THE
DIFFERENT FLAVOURS OF BUTTERMILK
As we know that
buttermilk is a probiotic drink with all the nutrients that call it the goodness of
health drink. Buttermilk can be easily made at home from curd or it is also
available in the market. Buttermilk has extreme low fat content in it. A very watery liquid which has a very thin
consistency which makes it easily digestible and a quick cure for digestion
problems such as acidity and piles. Buttermilk is highly rich in calcium which makes
it the most sought after drink for maintaining healthy bones and teeth. An
effective substitute for snacks recommended by most dieticians and an effective
aid in weight loss. The so many health benefits attached with buttermilk
definitely make it a wonder drink.
You can add
different flavours to buttermilk to suit your needs. Buttermilk is a very
soothing drink to beat the heat during summers. You can have buttermilk as
sweet or salty or turn into fruit buttermilk.
For salty
buttermilk all you need to do is add cumin powder and black salt to your buttermilk.
Mix it well and have it chilled.
In case you
prefer having it sweet, you can add sugar or honey to buttermilk. Mix it well.
Add a few ice cubes to it and relish this drink.
For making
fruit buttermilk such as for making mango buttermilk add few chopped pieces of
mango and a few spoons of sugar(I don’t add sugar as mango is a sweet fruit and
there is already too much sugar in it).Blend in the blender. Add a few cubes of
ice and enjoy.
You can even
add 1-2 teaspoons of rose syrup to buttermilk and blend it in the blender with
a few ice cubes and make a soothing rose buttermilk drink for the summers.
